“I’ve always been enamored by technology. I think the power of mobile technology to educate, inform, entertain, and communicate is absolutely incredible. I think smartphones are amazing, but I wanted to take a look at some of the ways people use these now indispensable and ubiquitous devices — for better and for worse,” said Cabeza. “I’m interested as a user, a consumer, and a digital media professional.”

“I started this film project because I think smartphones, and how we use them are truly incredible. As a digital marketing expert, I wanted to learn more about how these devices are changing the way we communicate and how we live and work,” noted Cabeza. “Since I make my living online and by getting my clients’ messages onto these devices, this work is important. It’s been a ton of fun. Plus, I think it’s helped me understand how important stories, relationships, and personal connections really are. I really think my clients need more of this personal approach because it makes an impact. I have a profound respect for storytelling, eye contact, and the simple act of being present.”

Steve Cabeza is a director, producer, digital marketing expert, and early adopter based in South Florida. He is the CEO of Amplification, Inc., a digital marketing agency founded in 2008.
