6 Simple Marketing Ideas To Give Your Business An Extra Edge This Holiday Season

 In Uncategorized

Happy Holidays! Here is a simple list of easy ways to add some extra value and a holiday twist to your marketing efforts this season.

  1. Do Some Charity Work and Partner with a Local Charity
It’s called social consciousness because giving back is a big deal and it matters, more so now than ever. If you live in the United States and have a business here, it should be mandatory to give back. Most charitable organizations have robust social media marketing channels that they can leverage to your benefit with the appropriate arrangement. Don’t do it because it’s good for you. Do it because it’s good.

  1. Offer Gift Wrapping
Take it from one who knows, some people hate wrapping gifts. There’s a knack that escapes me, and frankly I just don’t keep that sort of stuff around the house. Whether you sell products in a retail store or online, your customers are likely to want some of their purchases gift wrapped. So you can offer that as an extra service or even as a complementary add-on. This is a great way to generate additional foot traffic in-store.

  1. Create a YouTube Video
If you don’t already know, I am and have been a big, big fan of video for many, many years. I love it! Video marketing is a great way to attract new customers throughout the year. And we all know video is the best content to use online. The holidays are no different. Create a themed video that shows off your holiday spirit with a song or a spoof of some popular holiday stories. And it doesn’t have to be a big production effort. Your phone or tablet can take sufficient quality video to support this effort, so don’t let technology be an excuse.

  1. Offer Gift Delivery
Even for local businesses that don’t normally ship products, you can offer to ship or personally deliver gifts for busy customers around the holidays as an extra service or offering.

  1. Give Client Gifts
Remember these words: “Perceived Value.” That is all that matters when gift giving. How does the person who received the gift perceive its value? Give something rare, or unique, homemade or distinctive. Put thought into it. Giving gifts to your best clients, customers and colleagues throughout the holiday season can be a great way to show your appreciation and create a great experience for all.

  1. Think Outside the Box
As cliché as it is, it has never mattered more. Don’t follow trends. Branch out and try something new. I have been in the social media marketing, digital marketing, and video marketing space for many, many moons. Having some lame Facebook or Instagram “contest” where you give away a gift card or some other played and unimpressive premium doesn’t work anymore. Be creative.
